PDF Scanner Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 13, 2026
Privacy contact: 18911609462@163.com
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how PDF Scanner handles information when you use the iPhone app. It covers document scanning, file organization, recognition and editing tools, analytics and support communications.
2. Documents and device permissions
When you use the app, it processes photos you take or select, images and PDFs you import, recognized text, annotations, receipt details, business-card details and object-count results to provide the features you choose.
Scanning, optical character recognition, document editing and object-count estimates are performed on your device. Documents, previews, local search indexes and saved recognition results are stored in the app's local storage. Scanning or editing a document does not by itself upload its contents to PDF Scanner. The app does not provide built-in document cloud synchronization.
The app may create temporary files while capturing, importing, processing or exporting documents. When you export or share a file, you choose the destination. A copy sent to another app, person or service is handled under that recipient's practices. Apple device or cloud backups may include app data according to your settings.
Camera: camera access is used when you choose to scan or photograph a document. You can change this permission in iOS Settings.
Photos and files: iOS pickers let you choose the images and documents to import.
Contacts: business-card details are shown for your review. If you choose to save a contact, the app opens Apple's contact interface. The app does not upload your address book through this feature.
3. App and analytics data
The app creates a device-level app identifier and stores it in app preferences and Apple Keychain so it can support app services and attribution. Keychain items may remain after the app is uninstalled. The app also stores preferences such as OCR language and image quality, document metadata, and the state of installation attribution.
App service requests may include the app identifier, app version, app-open events and installation-attribution information, together with connection details such as IP address and request time. The app contains integrations for AppsFlyer, Firebase Analytics and Meta App Events. When an analytics or attribution integration is active in the installed version, the relevant provider may process app events, installation identifiers and technical information to measure app use and installations. An advertising identifier is accessed only where the installed version requests tracking permission and you allow it through iOS.
Analytics and attribution data does not include the contents of documents you scan or edit. You can manage tracking permission through iOS Settings. The app's local scanning and PDF editing features do not depend on granting tracking permission.
If you enable App PIN, the app stores a salted PIN-derived value and retry-control information in Keychain. The PIN locks access to the app interface; it does not encrypt every local document or an exported copy. Password-protected PDF export is a separate feature.
4. How information is used and shared
Information is used to provide the feature you request, maintain app preferences, measure installations and app use where analytics are active, maintain service reliability, address misuse and respond to support messages.
Service providers may process app and analytics information to provide hosting, attribution, measurement or technical services. Apple and other apps or services receive information when you use their system features or choose to export or share a document. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect users, the service or legal rights.
If you contact support, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Do not include sensitive document information unless it is needed to resolve your request.
5. Storage and retention
Documents and related local records remain on your device until you remove them through the app or remove the app, subject to any device backup. Exported copies and information already shared with another service are not removed when you delete the local copy. Some Keychain identifiers may remain after uninstalling the app.
Support messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain support records. App service and measurement providers retain information under their applicable retention practices. You can contact us about a privacy request using the address below.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
You can remove local documents, choose whether to export or share them, change supported preferences and manage camera, photos, contacts and tracking permissions in iOS Settings. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information. Send requests to 18911609462@163.com. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify and respond to a request.
7. Security and children
The app uses iOS storage and Keychain for their respective purposes. No method of storing or transmitting information can guarantee complete security. Protect your device with a passcode, keep iOS updated and take care when exporting or sharing documents.
If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information in a support message, please contact us so we can review the request.
8. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when app features or information practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
